Our community has been through a lot over the last couple of years. At Summit Dental Care, our team, including Dr. Vu, takes health and safety very seriously and wants to adhere to the latest CDC guidelines to keep our staff and patients safe and healthy. We ask that you take the time to read this letter to know what to expect.

Infection control has always been a top priority for our practice and you may have seen this during your visits to our office. Our infection control processes are made so that when you receive care, it's both safe and comfortable. We want to tell you about the infection control procedures we follow in our practice to keep patients and staff safe.

Our office follows infection control recommendations made by the American Dental Association (ADA), the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Washington Industrial Safety and Health Act (WISHA). We follow the activities of these agencies so that we are up-to-date on any new rulings or guidance that may be issued. We do this to make sure that our infection control procedures are current and adhere to each agencies' recommendations.

Prior to Your Appointment:

•  We will be asking a short wellness questionnaire via email/text or in person to screen for any symptoms associated with covid-19.
•  We ask that you arrive for your appointment as close to your scheduled time as possible to minimize the number of patients in our waiting area at any given time.
•  Please wear a face mask to your appointment.
•  We ask that you sign up via our patient portal and fill out forms online. This will allow you to check future appointments, make payments and update forms in the comfort of your home, minimizing transmission via credit cards and pens. Updated forms will also be sent out electronically before your appointment to keep everything up-to-date as possible.

During Your Appointment:

•  We have hand sanitizer and tissues that are available for patient use upon arrival.
•  When you arrive, we will take your temperature via a touch-free infrared thermometer. Temperatures over 100.5 degrees F may require us to reschedule your appointment
•  To minimize viral transmission in the waiting room, we have removed objects that are difficult to regularly sanitize, such as magazines.
•  We have also installed multiple HEPA filtration machines throughout the office to regularly clear the air of any residual viral particles.
•  Our team will be using the best available and appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) for your appointment. We apologize for the daunting appearance as may we wear KN95 masks, face shields and disposable gowns.
•  We will be checking patients out through our backdoor to reduce traffic in the waiting room. If there are any documents that we need to follow up with you on, we may call you or send you an email.
